Opinions - I hate Open Workbench!

Workbench Logo

Terry Lawson is not a fan of Open Workbench. In this article Terry explains why, in his opinion, this open source offering cannot seriously compete with MS Project.

Yet a number of organisations in the UK - and not just small ones - have rolled-out Workbench. But why?

In his article Terry Lawson goes to the heart of the matter, giving Open Workbench a close examination. He argues that free Workbench is keeping the company’s Financial Director happy while Project Managers are left struggling with a demonstrably sub-standard and inflexible scheduling engine...
Result: the balance sheet looks better, but the less visible cost of project management inefficiencies and wasted time go unnoticed.

Actionwide refreshes website

Thumbnail of Website

The old ‘green’ theme shown in the picture is gone. More importantly, we believe that this new website will make it easier for visitors and clients to find what they are looking for. The search functionality has been improved, and the front page now provides one-click access to many areas of the site that were previously harder to reach.

This change in appearance has been accompanied by a change in Content Management System, making it easier for the web team to collaborate and keep the site up-to-date.

Our web and database servers have also been upgraded, so visitors should experience significantly improved response times when browsing pages and when downloading resources.

Dom Fisher, Director of Business Development commented: “We wanted to deliver more interactive and diverse content. This redesign and infrastructure upgrade paves the way to richer media such as video and chat. The web remains a fast evolving medium and it presents a continuing opportunity to reach our customers in more effective ways.”
